Fabritex, Inc. was founded in 1989 by Andy Adams, an entrepreneur with a mission to craft custom structural components. But Adam’s story began long before that, with decades of entrepreneurial experience that shaped its foundation.
Andy Adams launched his first business in the 1960s with a sawmill business. This was a natural fit, as he had a strong background in the wood products industry. Having grown up in the South, Adams recognized the opportunity the region had to offer. So, he seized it and soon shifted his career into a small engine repair business where he serviced and sold lawn mowers and chainsaws before expanding into equipment rentals for contractors.
That venture eventually evolved into something much bigger: Funspot Trampolines, a company dedicated to manufacturing trampolines. Adams built a vast dealer network, gaining over 1,000 dealers across 22 states. At one point, he was known as the largest trampoline dealer in the world! This business was so successful that he closed his small engine shop to focus on it full time. However, when large retailers like Walmart began importing trampolines at lower costs, his business faced a steep decline.
Fabritex was then founded as a subsidiary of Funspot Trampolines in 1989 to handle the metal fabrication and textiles for Funspot Trampolines. The name “Fabritex” was created by combining (FAB)rication and (TEX)tiles. Word of mouth spread quickly, and Fabritex quickly gained a strong reputation in the metal fabrication industry. By 1993, the company branched out as a fully independent operation and expanded its product offerings to meet the needs of a wider industrial market.
Our niche was soon defined by key areas such as handrails, machine guards, wire payoffs, and wire uncoiling machinery. In 2005, we further diversified by entering the party and event industry, supplying structural components and tent parts. Today, Fabritex specializes in wire carriers, stem packs, and custom industrial metal fabrication.
Fabritex remains committed to the values of hard work, innovation, and craftsmanship that Andy Adams instilled from the very beginning. More than 35 years later, we continue to deliver high-quality fabrication solutions to customers across a wide range of industries. Partner with us to experience a seamless fabrication process and outstanding results.
